Pure essential oils are potent plant extracts. Just as you would with medication, be sure that you understand the potential effects and possible hazards before using any essential oil.
You are responsible for understanding the safe application of the oils. We strongly recommend that you only use essential oils, be it for yourself or for someone else – and particularly so for children, pets, pregnant women or persons with any medical condition – if you are absolutely sure that you have acquired the knowledge necessary to use them safely. If you do decide to use any of our oils, whether for diffusion or topically or internally, please know that you do so at your own risk.
Keep all essential oils securely out of reach of children and pets.
A skin patch test should be conducted by everyone prior to using any oil.
Never apply any oil on or close to the eyes.
Essential oils may discolour, stain or otherwise damage many kinds of materials, but particularly so plastics and painted/varnished surfaces.
Keep all oils away from any ignition source and heat. Essential oils are highly flammable.
Pure essential oils do not dissolve in water. If such a mixture is required, use a suitable solubilizer or at least make sure to swish or shake the water-oil mixture vigorously just before use.
Like humans, pets may also greatly benefit from aromatherapy, but this is a controversial subject as there is so much totally conflicting information published. Please be mindful of how sensitive animals are as compared to humans when it comes to the sense of smell; and for some (certainly for birds, but cats are often mentioned in this regard too), there is a chance that some oils will be dangerous for them even in very small quantities!
